We are ecstatic to explore the flavors of May with chef and fried Mark Bernal.
This collaboration promises an ambiance heavy evening and a fresh take on a night out for drinks. Come celebrate the new season with three artisanal cocktails paired with seasonal charcuterie crafted by Star Bright Farm’s bounty. Mark will lead everyone through the handmade process of each drink- from foraging, to infusing, to mixing. Meanwhile, savor a perfect setting for a memorable date night or for mingling with fellow enthusiasts of creativity and culinary arts.
Mark Sullivan Bernal has lived and worked in restaurants for over 25 years from a beach café on Canandaigua Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes, to the Top of the Standard Hotel in Manhattan, to Woodberry Kitchen and Old LIne Spirits in the city that he dreams in and believes in, Baltimore. He envisions a rebirth in hospitality that values human contact, genuine conversation, and unforgettable lived experiences, rather than tablets and devices, guest notes in Open Table, and endless take-out.
Mark is currently set to open a neighborhood restaurant in Baltimore's TV Hill neighborhood in 2026. Named after his grandmother, Milie's will be a revolutionary space featuring a wood fired oven and live fire grill, unparalleled dranks, and legendary service.
As the spirit behind No Spade to Follow LLC, Mark has designed beverage and education programs with local innovators including BLK Swan, C.A.n.E Collective, Rocklands Farm Winery, and DiPasquale's recently opened Forno. With his sister, Mark runs the poetry cocktail collaboration, Dreamwood, in Hampden. Mark has a degree in Literature from NYU and has traveled throughout South Africa, China, and Mongolia. He is also the president of the Medfield Community Association and one of the founders of MedFest!, the greatest school fundraiser of ever. He lives in Medfield with his amazing wife, Kate, and two sons.
