Musician John Christian Kane was born in Baltimore City in 1983, and began playing guitar at the young age of 9. Influenced by the older blues and Motown sounds beloved by his parents, John studied at local music shops and Peabody Preparatory Institute in order to continue his love of music and develop his own sound. John's talents are not limited solely to guitar; he plays a variety of instruments on most of his songs. He played in a number of bands during his teens, touring and winning battle of the bands contests throughout his younger years. John produced an EP with the rock band Far From Earth, achieving a local level of success and recognition. John and Far From Earth performed at the national Artscape Festival and won local radio station's 98Rock Battle of the Bands.
