We are excited about this extraordinary music event–a magical night in the barn with the incomparable pianist Matt Rollings. You may not know the name at first, but you have likely been listening to him on recordings and at concerts for many years.
The evening starts at 5:00 with Champagne shopping and heavy Hors d’oeurves from 5-7 pm in the Barn Market. Our Barn Market will be ready for you to be the first to get a jump on your Holiday shopping. If you haven’t been here, it is in our beautiful stone bank barn and is filled with our farm made products plus other artisan made gifts for the home, garden and pantry. At 6:45 our guest will head upstairs in the barn for the concert. Concert starts promptly at 7:00 PM
Matt Rollings is a Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning pianist, songwriter, and producer. He is a piano virtuoso who has toured the world and played on over twelve hundred recordings with such greats as Eric Clapton,
Lyle Lovett, Billy Joel, Johnny Cash, Queen, Sheryl Crow, Alison Krauss, The Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Trisha Yearwood, and Vince Gill, just to name a few.
As a producer, Matt has won two Grammy awards for producing Willie Nelson’s albums, Summertime, Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin, and My Way, Willie Nelson Sings Sinatra. He has also received critical acclaim for Mary Chapin Carpenter’s Grammy, nominated album, The Age of Miracles, Keith Urban’s multi-platinum self-titled album, and the Edwin McCain Band multi-platinum album, Misguided Roses.
Matt Rollings has toured with Lyle Lovett for over thirty years and frequently with Alison Krauss and many other noteworthy artists. Matt has been consistently and continually recognized by the Music Industry in numerous ways, not the least of which, by The Academy of Country Music awarding him “Pianist / Keyboardists of The Year” an astonishing ten times.
In 2020 Matt released his critically acclaimed solo album Mosaic, which showcased his mastery as a pianist, producer, and arranger. On this album, Matt collaborated with Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, The War and Treaty, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, and more. Matt will be releasing another solo project in early 2023.
Matt and his band will be performing on Friday night, November 18, in New York City. On Saturday, he brings his incredible band to Maryland for a limited-edition performance on Saturday evening, November 19, in an intimate setting in the barn at the magical Star Bright Farm.
The group will feature renowned jazz guitarist and President/CEO of Benedetto Guitars Howard Paul, the legendary Ben Perowsky on drums of the award-winning Broadway musical Hadestown, and the immensely talented NYC musician Chris Lightcap on bass.
